About
W
hat we hope to achieve with the site.
The aim of the site is to generate interest in Secular Buddhism in Britain and to create a friendly community which is based on the Guiding Principles. This site is not intended to be a formal Secular Buddhist association, but there may a move towards such an association in the future if members so decide.
Community
Ultimately it is hoped that in time this community will grow into a Secular Buddhist peer practitioner lead movement that takes decisions affecting the members democratically, striving for consensus whenever possible. However, some form of democratically run association may be need to be formed to achieve this fully. That would be for members to decide. In time this community may also be in the position to engage in society with generosity and compassion.
